Breeder Awards Program - The origin of the APWS Breeder Awards program can be traced back to the annual meeting held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, October 21, 1950. Claude Hooke, APS President appointed Jean Delacour to select the recipient of the award for the outstanding breeding results for 1950. After considering the breeding results of breeders submitted to him, he awarded the plaque to Robert H. Gibson of St. Helena, California. The Breeder Awards program has been revamped in 1975 and 1993. Since the start of the awards over 200 Society members have been recognized for their achievements in raising various species of birds. Breeder Awards are presented yearly at our convention to Novice, Beginner, Intermediate, and Master Breeders.
